A team that looked into the effect of foot reflexology on pain and fear of movement of people who had total knee replacement operation reported positive findings. Publishing their work in Orthopaedic Nursing (2024), the experts looked at 40 people who had knee surgery, half of whom were given reflexology. This group experienced less pain, fear of moving the joint and took less painkillers than people who did not receive reflexology.
