Reflexology in pregnancy increases birth satisfaction says study

ree

Ground-breaking findings in Scientific Reports (2024) suggests that reflexology could play a wider role in pregnancy and childbirth. Looking at data from almost 1,200 pregnant women, foot reflexology was found to:

·      Reduce anxiety and pain;

·      Shorten the three stages of labour;

·      Increase birth satisfaction;

·      Reduce the pulse rate and respiratory rate of pregnant women;

·      And stabilise vital signs in pregnant women.

Furthermore, the research team relays “it is a safe and non-invasive form of complementary therapy.”
